Dedicated to enhancing educational opportunities for all students in the Carrollton Community Unit School District, Carrollton Illinois

Who We Are

The District One Foundation is a tax-exempt, not-for-profit foundation chartered by the State of Illinois, dedicated to enhancing the educational opportunities for all the students of the school district. District One Foundation is a Section 501c(3) organization and all contributions are tax-deductible under Section 4942 of the Internal Revenue Service Code. Our Federal Employer Identification Number is 37-1314937.

Special Projects

Foundation trustees have raised funds through donations, memorial bequests and various other activities to provide the following projects/programs:

  • A farm safety program through the Hembrough Trust for Greenfield & Carrollton Vocational Agricultural students.
  • A summer school enrichment camp for Carrollton and Greenfield Elementary students.
  • An elementary K-4 Early Bird tutoring program.
  • Funding to purchase science equipment to study genetics, to make classroom science kids and to provide materials for Special Education classrooms.
  • The K - 12 Character Education program.
  • Archival of school district materials dating back to the mid-1880's.
  • The Foundation continues to fund scholarships to seniors graduating from Carrollton High School ranging from a total of $1,000 in 1994 to $28,570 in 2009.

Our Goals

The Foundation is dedicated to enhance the educational opportunities for all students in the school district. The Trustees plan to continue to promote and support the academic programs of the school district and to sponsor additional scholarships for deserving graduates.
 
Anyone interested in establishing a scholarship may without obligation contact one of the trustees or call the office. The Foundations's committee for scholarship selection is available to assist individuals and organizations in selecting scholarship recipients. All awards are made without regard to age disability, race, color, sex, creed or nationality.
 
Testamentary gifts, through your will, trust, retirement plan, or life insurance policy may have a significant impact upon our students and are deeply appreciated. Anyone interested in making a contribution to the Foundation may print out and complete the online donor form and send to one of the trustees or office.
