Tyler Lippert bettered his school record in the discus by over 13 feet at the Capital Area Honor Roll Meet Monday.  The new mark is 170’9”!

 

95 academic awards were handed out at the JH/HS Academic Awards Night on Monday.

 

Jessica Hamel received her 1 Gallon Award pin for blood donation from the Central Illinois Community Blood Center.

 

New employees, service award winners, and retirees were honored at Thursday’s Employee Dinner.  Retirees this year include Mike Barry, Nancy Gettings, and Harold Rawe.  Dick Lakin was the recipient of the first Hawk Spirit Award.

 

There are seven cheerleaders selected to the squads for 2008-09 school year on Thursday.

 

17 students are enrolled in summer driver education classroom.  The classes will be held from June 2nd-20th will be taught by Mr. Wollenweber.

 

Our sincere appreciation to First Baptist Church for hosting the 71st Annual Senior Tea Friday.  Guest speaker was William R. Lemon and CHS sophomore Jon Evans provided music.

 

Good luck to all students on semester exams.  The high school will dismiss at 2:05 Monday – Wednesday during finals.  Bus service will be on the regular schedule.

 

Baccalaureate and graduation for the Class of 2008 will be held this week.  Baccalaureate will be at St. John’s on Wednesday at 7pm and graduation will be on the front lawn on Friday at 7pm.

Girl’s Track Results:  State Qualifiers – 3200m Relay Team (Montanez, Lippert, Kraut, & Shade)

Softball Results:  Varsity defeated Brown County and fell to Gillespie; Carrollton Regional – defeated Brussels
