Student Council
Congratulations to Mrs. Watts and the Student Council for the successful Mini Relay for Life which raised over $1,400 and the Hoops for Heart and Jump Rope for heart which raised $1,900. The Student Council will sponsor Student Council week May 12-16 with special activities planned each day. Dress up days are as follows: Monday-Wacky Hair Day, Tuesday-Twin Day, Wednesday-50’s Day, Thursday-Sports Day, Friday-Class Color Day.
School Health Requirements for 2008-2009
School Nurse Julie Bland has provided health requirements for the 2008-2009 school year. The requirements are listed on the back page of this newsletter. If you have any questions, please contact Nurse Bland at 217-942-6831.
PTO
The PTO met on Monday, April 28, 2008, and elected officers for the 2008-2009 school year. The new officers are President-Rachel Evans, 1st Vice President-Terri Ringhausen, 2nd Vice President-Lynette Williams, Secretary-Jeanne Varble and Treasurer-Dianna Ruyle. The PTO will sponsor the Summer Send Off on May 19 at the Carrollton City Park.
Track
Congratulations to the Boys and Girls Track Teams for an outstanding Sectional. The 8th grade girls won the Sectional championship and twenty-two individuals will be competing at the State Meet on May 9 and 10 in Peoria.
Scholastic Bowl
The Scholastic Bowl Team received a letter from the IESA commending Coach Karen Hillis and the team for outstanding Sportsmanship during the Regional Championship. The team had an outstanding season and placed second in the Regional Tournament. Congratulations!
8th Grade Recognition
Eighth Grade Recognition will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. in the grade school gym. If you are the parent of a 7th grade student and would be willing to help decorate the gym, please contact Lynette Williams.
