CARROLLTON SCHOOL DISTRICT #1 BOARD MEMBER VACANCY
The Carrollton School District is accepting applications to fill the vacancy resulting from the Consolidated Election on April 9, 2013 in which only three of the five vacant seats were filled. The appointment will be from the date of appointment until the next regular school board election which will be held in April 2015.
The School District, in an active partnership with parents and community, will promote excellence in a caring environment in which all students learn and grow. This partnership shall empower all students to develop a strong self-esteem and to become responsible learners and decision-makers. The School District is committed to developing and using a visionary and innovative curriculum which is aligned with the Illinois Learning Standards and incorporates essential skills, a knowledgeable and professional staff, and sound fiscal and management practices.
Applicants for the School Board vacancy must be: a US citizen; at least 18 years of age; a resident of Illinois and the District for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment; and a registered voter. The applicant cannot be: a child sex offender; hold another incompatible public office; have a prohibited interest in any contract with the District; hold certain types of prohibited State or Federal employment.
Applications may be obtained at the District office located at 950A Third Street, Carrollton beginning on April 30, 2013. Completed applications must be turned in by 1:00 Monday, May 13, 2013 to Becky Howard, Secretary Board of Education at the District office.

Carrollton Community Unit School District is located in Carrollton Illinois - 65 miles North of St. Louis, Missouri. The District serves roughly 620 students in K-8 and 9-12 attendance centers with around 90 people on the payroll.

August 23, 2012- Carrollton High School Students were treated to an assembly that demonstrated the NAO Robot. Over the past three years, Carrollton School District has targeted Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) initiatives. The NAO robot will be used in Engineering, Programming, Science, and Mathematics classes as well as in the Robotics Club to give students rich and varied opportunities!
